still 'LIVE'

English: As part of a group exhibition of FUKS (Free, Independent Artists of Stuttgart), a temporary photo studio was set up by Maartje Ansems in order to create and photograph still lives in a ‘live’ situation. The location was an empty shop in a Stuttgarter neigbbourhood named Hallschlag.

Residents of Hallschlag and visitors of the one-night stand-exhibition were invited to provide objects, fabrics or small items, that could serve as ground material for the compilation of the still lives.

The artist combined the collected objects with self-made materials, and grouped, joined, glued or stacked them until something new has came into being. The resulting objects were photographed in a matching decor.

Even the contributors of the objects or the individual visitors of the exhibition could become part of the composition. This happened spontaneously and was depending on the situation.
